LEADER is an EU wide rural development programme supporting the growth and development of rural communities, businesses & protecting the rural environment.
Funded by the EU and the Irish Government under Irelands CAP Strategic Plan, LEADER provides funding, training, guidance to community groups and supports for rural business.
In Co. Clare, LEADER is managed by Clare Local Development Company and our LEADER 23-27 plan was developed after extensive public and stakeholder consultation in 2023.

Through the LEADER programme, CLDC also launched the Social Enterprise Network in January 2023, to give Social Enterprises in Clare a platform to interact with other like-minded people, to ask questions, share ideas, experiences & learnings, and to identify opportunities for working together and for wider collaboration.
