    What is CLDC membership?

Since 2015, CLDC is a membership-based organisation which connects more directly with communities and people on the ground.

Community and voluntary groups, businesses and interested individuals in Co. Clare who support the ethos of CLDC are invited to become registered members, and if they wish, to participate in nominating and electing Directors to the Board. Only community and voluntary groups and businesses can participate in elections.

What are the benefits of membership?

    • All members are connected to our information network
    • Get regular updates on CLDC news and activities
    • Give feedback and suggestions on what we do
    • Participate in consultation and research for planning future actions
    • Community and voluntary group members, as well as business members, can participate in Board elections – Put forward nominees for Board election, and vote in election
    • Business members can attend the AGM

    What are the membership criteria?

    For community and voluntary groups:

Be in existence for more that 6 months
    Be active
    Be not-for-profit
    Support the CLDC ethos

    How do we/I join?

Fill in an application form and send it to us by email or post. You will then be registered as a member.

Where do I get an application form?
Request a form by emailing members@cldc.ie

How do we/I get involved in CLDC elections?

Applications for membership are open on a continuous basis. Only members who are registered with CLDC as a community and voluntary group or as a business can participate in the election process.

If your community group or business wants to have someone elected to the Board
When there is an election, a nomination form must be sent to us by email or post by the deadline. Once we have all the nominations, we will send you a ballot paper with a deadline for return.

If your community group or business doesn’t want to be elected/nominated but does want to vote
We will send you a ballot paper so that you can have a say in who is elected from your membership sector.
