FREE home energy trainings start this week!

Our free Home Energy Saving Course is continuing this January after a short break. This LEADER funded initiative is helping householders to understand their home energy use and offer tips to reduce consumption and be more energy efficient – very timely as we all struggle with rising bills at this time of year.

The online training sessions, will recommence this Wednesday 17th January for five weeks and run from 7.30 to 9pm. All are welcome, to attend one or all of the sessions!

Over the remaining five weeks we will be looking at how we can use simple devices to monitor and manage our energy use. We will also be discussing our choices and behaviours around our transport energy and how working together as communities can lead to innovative renewable energy projects. It is a great chance to network with others and learn from each other.

Once registered, you will be able to access previous sessions on no and low cost measures to saving energy, understanding energy bills, insulation, household BER’s and Solar PV.

The course is facilitated by AstonECO on behalf of CLDC.

Free Course on Home Energy Saving

Clare Local Development Company (CLDC) is delighted to support a free Home Energy Saving Course for communities which will run over the winter months. This LEADER funded initiative will help householders to understand their home energy use and offer tips to reduce consumption and be more energy efficient. The course includes a mix of in-person and online sessions and people are welcome to join any or all of the sessions.

In person launch events:

-Sat Oct 28th – Lisdoonvarna Pavillion 1Oam to 2pm
-Tues November 7th – Scarriff GAA club 7.15pm to 9.15pm
-Wed November 8th – Kilrush Golf Club 7.30pm to 9.30pm

The online sessions will commence on Wednesday 15th November and run from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The course is facilitated by AstoECO on behalf of CLDC.

We have received some queries about the new energy upgrade grants recently announced by SEAI. CLDC’s Community Energy Mentor, Lorraine Power, while not dealing with individual home energy grants, would like to point interested householders in the right direction towards applying for grants and creating a warmer, healthier and more comfortable home.

Community Energy Plan Workshop: For those SEC groups in County Clare thinking about applying for a 100% SEAI-funded Community Energy Plan, we will be running a one-hour online information session on how to apply for and complete your Community Energy Plan. Monday 21^st February, 7.30pm
Solar PV talk: – everything you need to know about installing Solar PV in your home. Facilitated online by Xavier Dubuisson, Energy Consultant. Monday 21^st March, 7.30pm
