LEADER capital grants are available for:
• Rural recreation and activity tourism
• Culture and heritage tourism
• Artisan food, arts, craft and design tourism
• Innovative accommodation products
• Wheelchair accessible tourism amenities

LEADER wants to build strong tourism destinations in Clare that are branded and actively marketed.
LEADER training, capital grants and mentoring are available for branding and marketing priority Co. Clare destinations:
• Lough Derg/Lough Graney/Sliabh Aughty
• Loop Head/Shannon Estuary
• The Burren
• Other niche destinations

Doolin Tourism Co-operative for promoting #Love Doolin 2018#.

Loop Head Tourism for a development plan for the Loop Head tourism network.

Burren Ecotourism Network for promoting ecotourism businesses in the Burren.

Tourism East Clare for a development and marketing plan for East Clare.

LEADER for Enterprise

LEADER wants to provide employment in rural areas by helping rural businesses to get started and expand.
LEADER capital grants are available for setting up or expanding enterprises in these sectors.
• Digital economy
• Green economy
• Agriculture, forestry and equine related services
• Artisan food, arts, craft and design
• Social enterprise
Training and networking supports are also available for these enterprises.
Producer groups, co-operative groups and business networks can access capital funding and soft supports.

LEADER for Community

LEADER wants to build strong, resilient and inclusive communities in Co. Clare.
Supports which can help communities include:
• Area based planning for communities – 50 Clare communities will be supported to create their own plan for their community
• Capital grants to fund community projects and services which build stronger communities
• Training and networking supports to build community leadership and capacity
• Area based strategies and capital funding for Kilrush, Ennistymon and Scarriff Market Towns
• Small scale capital grants to enhance access to rural broadband

Examples of projects funded.

50 communities in Co. Clare for developing area based strategies to build resilient and inclusive communities

Association of Nigerian Community in Clare for sound equipment for community events

Kilrush, Ennistymon and Scariff market towns for establishing Town Teams and developing area based strategies

Ogonnelloe Community Centre for the renovation of their community centre

Lisdoonvarna Failte for multi-media and kitchen facilities in the Pavillion Hall

Scarriff Bay Community Radio for studio equipment

Shannon Paddlers for kayaking equipment for their Wellness on the Water community initiative

Rural communities for increased broadband access and new digital opportunities for rural living through high speed broadband in rural areas

Ballyvaughan Playground Association for a community playground

Up to 25 communities for the development of Biodiversity Action Plans and biodiversity projects in the community

Community groups for energy audits of their facilities and installation of renewable energy technology

• Support for youth involvement in community activities
• Helping youth business start-ups
• Capital grants for youth facilities and services in rural areas

• Training, networking and mentoring for renewable energy production, supply chain development and consumer demand
• Capital grants and feasibility funding to support renewable energy production and utilisation
