Targeted Youth Intervention
This action is delivered in conjunction with Clare Youth Services – www.clareyouthservice.org -and works intensively with young people in disadvantaged areas to engage them in activities that will provide both a learning and diversionary purpose and will give them positive role models who will challenge their behaviours and explore alternative choices and more appropriate responses.
Participants in the interventions will have been identified as experiencing multiple risk factors such as involvement in anti-social/criminal activity, drug/alcohol misuse, and poor school attendance/achievement, early school leaving and this valuable project provides interventions and supports to challenge their choices and decisions.
Young people participating in the project will be identified in consultation with schools, social workers, EWOs, Gardaí and will move in and out of the programme on the basis of assessment of level of risk they are facing.
