Primary Health Care Project
The Primary Health Care Project (PHCP) aims to help improve the health outcomes and quality of life of members of the travelling community in County Clare.
Delivered through a Community Development model by Primary Healthcare workers and Community Link workers from the travelling community, the programme focuses on health promotion in different areas including cardiovascular health, diabetes and mental health.
The programme is peer led – facilitated by members from the Travelling Community holding regular meetings and events aimed at helping promote practical and important health care initiates. The PHCP aspires to assist in dialogue between travellers and health service providers ensuring the uptake of health services in the area.
