The CLDC Homework Projects are educationally focused, referral based after schools’ support initiatives based in Kilrush, Ennis, Ennistymon and starting in 2019 Lisdoonvarna.
They projects are located in areas of disadvantaged within DEIS primary and secondary schools.
This project was developed in 2014 and has expanded from three primary schools to 6 primary and 3 post primary in Ennis and Kilrush and Ennistymon. We will incorporate Lisdoonvarna NS who have 19 pupils enrolled who are living in Direct Provision in 2019.
Children are referred to the project by the SCP staff, HSCL and class teachers. The project will focus primarily on homework and educational activities and will be delivered in and after school by CLDC tutors who have backgrounds in teaching, special needs, youth work and social care.
CLDC also supports Clare Immigrant Support Centre’s (CISC) After-school support sessions for immigrant post primary students in Ennis and Shannon, Shannon FRC Homework club which provides afterschool support for children from the Travelling and New Communities and Ennistymon FRC for their Homework Project.
