Citizen Science Biodiversity Training Series – 2025-2026
Building on the past decade of work in the area of Biodiversity, CLDC (with funding from the LEADER rural development fund,) launched a free citizen-science biodiversity training series for community groups and individuals across Clare in May 2025.
‘Dive into Nature’ and ‘Explore the wild’ were the first two of many hands-on immersive sessions and were held at beautiful Lough Grainey in Flagmount and alongside the Inagh river in bustling and vibrant Ennistymon.
The focus was on increasing community awareness, developing practical skills for active engagement and strengthening the sense of stewardship and responsibility that already exists in the waters and on the land of our beautiful county.
Topics included Citizen Science methods and skills, Freshwater Ecology, Invertebrates, Land Management and Use and Invasive Species.
The training sessions were delivered by our partners Nature Network Ireland.
