Refugee Week in Ennis: An Invitation to Connect Through Stories
Clare Local Development Company (CLDC), through its Community Connector Project, is inviting people across Clare to come together this Refugee Week for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and connection at Ennis Library.

Taking place on Thursday, 18 June from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the free event opens with a presentation of a curated book list celebrating stories of resilience and hope. The session then moves into a journaling workshop led by Deirdre Devally, giving everyone a chance to slow down, reflect, and put their own thoughts to paper.
No writing experience is needed — just bring yourself. Refreshments will be provided.
Events like this sit at the heart of the Community Connector Project, which supports communities in Clare to respond to migration and build strong local connections.
Working on an outreach basis alongside CLDC’s SICAP team, the programme helps residents and community groups voice their views, access clear information, counter misinformation, and build connections with newcomers — fostering dialogue, understanding, and inclusive, community-led approaches.
By bringing people together around shared stories, the evening offers a simple, welcoming way to strengthen local cohesion and build the kind of community resilience the programme is designed to nurture.
Places are limited and booking is essential. Secure your spot here: Refugee Week 2026 Book List & Journaling Workshop
