Books & Film Community Project for Refugee Week 2026

Clare Local Development Company’s SICAP Programme, the Community Connection Project, and Clare Library Network are inviting book lovers and film fans across County Clare to help create a special community‑led list of books and films for Refugee Week 2026.

This year’s Refugee Week theme is Courage. We are looking for recommendations of books and films from all over the world that reflect courage in today’s world – stories of culture, belonging, migration, resilience, identity, new beginnings, and everyday life.

Your suggestions do not have to relate to your own culture or background. They can be books or films from any country or community that inspired you, moved you, opened your eyes, or stayed with you. Recommendations in English, Irish, and all world languages are welcome.

The list created from your suggestions will be shared through participating Clare libraries during Refugee Week, 15–21 June 2026, to encourage reflection, conversation, and connection in our communities.
