New Arrivals to Ireland

CLDC helps individuals connect with local community groups and social networks, making it easier for new arrivals to find clubs, cultural organisations, and volunteer opportunities. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Through initiatives like Fáilte Isteach, new arrivals can improve their English in a welcoming environment. Fáilte Isteach offers free, volunteer-led conversational English classes designed to build language skills and confidence. Click to see the poster below

We also support the creation of new community groups, helping people come together around shared interests, cultures, and needs. Additionally, we organise and deliver local events that promote integration and connection.

Finally we have the Community Connector Programme. This project helps communities in Clare respond to migration in a positive, practical way. It supports residents and local groups to listen to all voices, identify needs, and shape locally led responses alongside CLDC’s SICAP team.
