Mountshannon to Host Free Community Energy Information Evening

With energy costs continuing to impact households and communities across Clare, residents of Mountshannon and the wider East Clare area are being invited to attend a free SEAI Energy Information Evening at Mountshannon Community Hall on Thursday, 21 May at 7pm.

Hosted by Clare Local Development Company (CLDC) in association with SEAI, the event will provide practical advice on reducing home energy costs, improving comfort levels and accessing grants and supports for energy upgrades.

Organisers are encouraging local people, homeowners, community groups and businesses to come along and learn about the opportunities available through the CLDC’s Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) programme.

Attendees will hear about the SEC programme and the simple “Learn – Plan – Do” approach that is helping communities across Clare take local climate action and develop more sustainable energy solutions.

Topics on the night will include:

  • An overview of the Sustainable Energy Communities programme and supports available
  • Practical home energy saving measures and “Fabric First” retrofit approaches
  • Information on SEAI grants and how communities and homeowners can access them
  • Questions and answers with local SEC mentors and energy experts

The event follows a successful recent community energy information evening held in Newmarket-on-Fergus, which attracted strong local interest and engagement around sustainable energy opportunities in Clare.

Denise O’Brien, SEC Mentor with CLDC, said the event is designed to be practical, informative and welcoming for everyone.

“This is an opportunity for people to learn about the supports available to help reduce energy use, lower bills and make homes and community buildings more efficient. Whether you are a homeowner, volunteer or part of a local group, everyone is welcome.”

The event is free to attend and all are welcome.
