Rural Recreation Programme at CLDC
The Rural Recreation programme manages the Walks Scheme in Co. Clare, covering five trails with over 110 landowners. The scheme pays landowners to maintain trails that cross their land, making outdoor recreation accessible to more people and providing extra landowner income.
The programme also supports the development and maintenance of local community trails, promotes outdoor recreation for locals and visitors, and enhances sustainability through innovative projects.
Leave No Trace
It is with kind permission of landowners that these rural walking routes all around the county are accessible to walkers. It is important that walkers and rural recreationalists recognise this and follow the principles of Leave No Trace when in the outdoors, which includes respect for nature, landowners, their animals and their property.
