Connecting Clare Communities to Host Webinar on Corporate Governance & Charity Structures

Clare Local Development Company (CLDC) is inviting community and voluntary groups across the county to take part in an upcoming online webinar focused on Corporate Governance and Charity Structures, taking place on Thursday, 28th May at 7.30pm.

This practical and accessible session is part of the Connecting Clare Communities programme — a free initiative designed to support local groups to learn, connect and grow. The webinar will offer a valuable introduction to governance, helping participants better understand their roles, responsibilities, and the structural options available to them as community organisations.

Strong governance is at the heart of every effective community group. Whether you are newly established or looking to strengthen your existing structures, this session will provide clear guidance in a manageable and relatable way.

The webinar will be delivered by Cormac McCarthy, former Chairperson of Ennis Tidy Towns and current Chairperson of the Clare Memories Project. With extensive experience in volunteer engagement and organisational leadership, Cormac brings a practical, real-world perspective and a strong commitment to best practice in community governance.

This session forms part of the wider Connecting Clare Communities programme, delivered by CLDC in partnership with Levie Consulting and funded through the LEADER Programme. The initiative is shaped by the needs of local groups and offers a mix of training, mentoring, and opportunities to collaborate with others across County Clare.
