Global Action Plan aims to inspire people to become ‘change makers’. We equip individuals and communities with knowledge and skills to develop solutions to the environmental and climate crises.

TASC is an independent think-tank whose mission is to address inequality and sustain democracy by translating analysis into action. Main objectives:

  • Promoting education for the public benefit
  • Encouraging a more participative and inclusive society

BladeBridge repurposes decommissioned wind turbine blades into sustainable infrastructure, decoupling the production of renewable energy from the generation of waste.

Burrenbeo Trust is a landscape charity dedicated to connecting all of us to our places and our role in caring for them.

Hometree is a nature restoration charity, based in the west of Ireland. We work to establish and restore resilient habitats, focusing on native temperate rainforests. Our approach integrates community, culture, science and natural systems. Through afforestation, conservation, restoration and education we hope to nourish the landscape and create new ways for communities to relate to nature.

Common Knowledge is a non-profit social enterprise located on Ireland’s beautiful Wild Atlantic Way. We share skills in building, making, mending and growing, because we believe that between us all, we have the knowledge needed to create a truly sustainable future. Based on 50 acres, our Centre is a haven for learning, exploring and connection with other people, offering serene accommodation for people and groups.

Irish Seed Savers is an environmental not-for-profit organisation. We ConserveProtect and Utilise Ireland’s diverse genetic food crop heritage, safeguarding food crop biodiversity for present and future generations, and we Educate in the sustainable and ethical use of these precious resources.

We design and facilitate learning journeys, host training in community resilience and offer courses in green technologies.

Clare Public Participation Network (PPN) – https://clareppn.ie/

Clare PPN is the voice of community groups in Clare. We are a publicly-funded, independent network of more than 400 not-for-profit organisations throughout the county. Our mission is to ensure community groups have the opportunity to bring their expertise and opinions to bear on the County Council’s policies, plans and activities. We also offer training, and opportunities for our groups to collaborate and network with each other.

FairClare – A joint research publication from CLDC, CLarePPN and TASC (link to Fair-Clare_Socio-Economic-Rights-a-Just-Transition-in-Clare-Final-PDF.pdf )

This project examined the ongoing and likely future effects on Clare communities of the transition to net zero carbon emissions. It found there is a risk of ‘an unfair transition in the county’ unless measures are taken to address this. The report includes practical actions/suggestions for the county.
